21 DAYS OF PRAYING AND FASTING

We are entering our annual 21 days of corporate prayer and fasting from January 12 through midnight February 2, with one focus: the mouth. During this time, we are consecrating our speech and inviting the Holy Spirit to govern every word.

A mouth fast is not simply “talking less.” It is yielding our speech to the Holy Spirit so our words reflect Heaven.

The F.I.R.E. Fasting Manual is a free, all-encompassing guide to fasting created to serve individuals, families, and entire churches. This manual was designed to remove confusion, fear, and pressure around fasting and replace it with clarity, faith, and purpose.

This guide walks you through fasting in a way that is biblical, practical, and spiritually grounded. It addresses not only food, but also the heart, the mind, the mouth, and daily conduct. Whether you are fasting for the first time or have fasted for years, this manual meets you where you are.

What We Are Focusing On

• Throughout these 21 days, each person will fast in the way the Lord leads them. But corporately, we are committing to a mouth fast by cutting out:
• unnecessary talking and oversharing  
• gossip and side conversations  
• complaining and murmuring  
• negative speech and harsh responses  
• careless words and emotional reactions  

And we are choosing:

• prayer before speaking  
• silence when we are tempted to argue  
• words that build and bring peace  
• repentance when we slip  
• Scripture as our daily standard
